SMAG is a German corporation and global leader in the manufacture and design of Peiner Grapples and Buckets. Our manufacturing line is comprised of electro-hydraulic motor grabs, mechanical motor grabs, hydraulic lifting equipment, single rope radio control grabs and a range of other types of specialized lifting machinery.



To date, Peiner has supplied more than 75,000 units throughout the globe. Our unique grabs handle a range of materials from cement, iron ores, fertilizers, coke, refuse and scrap, amongst a range of other products. Our numerous years of experience in developing excellent products and the overall designing process helps to allow our client's receive the proven technology their various applications require.



SMAG/Peiner has been represented by Peiner USA, Inc. for over twelve years within the US market place. Different businesses like for instance Waste to Energy, Scrap handling, Steel Mills, Bulk Transfer Facilities and numerous other material handling facilities are currently using our buckets and grabs to accomplish their tasks.



The design philosophy at Peiner has always revolved around providing grabs which handle the largest volume of material versus grab dead weight. The typical handling ratio for Peiner grabs and buckets is around 60/40, meaning material dead weight of 60 percent vs. grab dead weight of 40 percent. This means transporting greater quantities of supplies quicker. There is less wear and tear on the structure of the crane and its related components. By combining manufacturing with innovative design and high quality materials, the required weight ratio is attained.



Grab sizes will vary from 1 cubic yard or less to more than 50 cubic yards in order to suit the needs of the client. Peiner USA Inc. also offers a complete spare parts facility and service facility for the units purchased within the USA, along with the addition of brand new grabs and buckets.
