There are 2 general types of boom lifts. These units are straight boom lifts and articulated boom lifts. Usually, these units are hydraulically powered. Most often straight booms are the ideal alternative for tasks which require a high reach with no obstructions. The turntable on the machine is capable of rotating 360 degrees with an extendable boom. This extendable boom can be vertically raised to below horizontal. Because the operator can maneuver and steer the vehicle while the boom is fully extended, it is a very versatile machine. These models are available in 4 wheel drive and 2 wheel drive, as well as diesel, propane or gas configurations.



Articulated boom lifts are utilized for lifting loads up and over obstacles and gain access to areas that were otherwise not accessible. These lift units perform tasks that straight telescopic booms cannot do. These lifts are practically like the straight boom lift in most aspects except in the boom's ability to articulate.
