Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries during the year 1966, after he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" which was utilized to lower and raise the hoist. This device greatly impressed a lot of clients and thus, the name was born.
Genie has moved into many new markets, since the demand for lifts and work platforms grew. Over time, when the requirements for new equipment to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself recognized in many new markets. Like for example, Genie went into production with man-lifts, articulated booms, light towers stick booms and telehandlers.
Because of the economic recession in the beginning of the 2000s, Genie decided to obtain a partner who held the same values. They partnered up with Terex Corporation. This company has a history acquiring machine manufacturers all over the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
During the early years after the sale, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand name within the Terex Aerial Work Platforms or AWP segment of Terex, because of the name's solid reputation within the marketplace. Hence, all Genie machinery continue to be marketed under the Genie brand name.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their clients. Genie has always been continually dedicated to improving the efficiency and quality in addition to minimizing wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on providing exceptional support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machinery.
Genie's DC and Bi-Energy equipment are emission-free, quiet machinery capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the equipment needs to be driven significant distances, such as within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC machinery along with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Telescopic booms provide more horizontal reach, as opposed to any of the various aerial platforms. These machines are great for small areas or limited access areas in all types of settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to provide utmost productivity. These machinery provide supreme traction and the drive speed you require in order to travel around the work site and job area.
